3 Ways To Boost Engagement On Your LinkedIn Company Page

Looking to boost engagement on your LinkedIn company page? We’re not going to lie to you; it’s not a quick and easy task. There’s work to be done, and it could take some time. But it can be worthwhile.

Here are the three main measures you need to take to boost your company’s LinkedIn engagement.

1. Content, content, content

The very best way to boost engagement on your LinkedIn company page, and you’ll find few who disagree, is by providing content that interests people. It doesn’t matter if you’re logging into LinkedIn, Facebook, The Guardian Online, or any other outlet, there’s nothing worse that logging in and being faced with bland, uninspired drivel.

If you want LinkedIn users to (a) remember you and (b) interact with your company, you need to give them something to sink their teeth into. This means status updates, images, videos, questions, trivia, links, contests, and anything else you can think of that will stop a web surfer in their tracks.

Once you’ve worked out what great content you’re going to share, then you need to work out when you’re going to share it. Take a closer look at LinkedIn and see when most activity occurs. Unlike Facebook, which sees a peak in action in the early evening, LinkedIn is generally busier in the morning and at lunchtime. But this is by no means written in stone, so experiment to see what works best for you.

Also, be aware that you need to post regularly. A neglected LinkedIn page is one that will have users running for the hills. Several posts a day is good, but at least one per day is essential.

2. Utilise recommendation ads

If you’re (very) lucky, your content will have LinkedIn followers breaking your doors down. If you’re normal, you’ll need to do a little more advertising if you really want to boost engagement on your LinkedIn company page.

LinkedIn offers onsite advertising that can put you in touch with your target audience. This is obviously a good move to make, particularly as you’ll be appealing to people that have already dipped their toe in the LinkedIn waters. Utilise these recommendation ads to further extend your reach and promote engagement.

3. Promote your page externally

It’s important that you don’t fall into the trap of thinking that LinkedIn itself is the be all and end all of your company’s web presence. It’s vital that you remain active, whilst enticing people backed to your company’s LinkedIn page.

Promote your page externally using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, blog posts, your company website, and anywhere else you think you might be able to find followers ready to engage. The chances are a lot of those you reach out to aren’t on LinkedIn, which means you may have to revert to other social media platforms or consider bribery, but some will be. Even if you’ve done the most thorough search and advertising campaign, you may have missed them. Finding them elsewhere could prove huge.

Follow these three steps and you should start to boost engagement on your LinkedIn company page. Of course, there are a number of other things you can try, but try these three first.
